We had an excellent stay at Timber Valley Retreat! Getting there was easy. We coordinated with Tom and he met us upon arrival. He took us to the cabins, which were far back on the property, and gave us a tour. He was very responsive during our stay. It was nice to get away and go off-grid for a couple of days. Our family was thoroughly enchanted by this serene, well-appointed glamping Airbnb nestled in the woods. Our son adored the whimsical sleeping loft, and the diverse outdoor activities provided a wonderful balance of adventure and relaxation. Incredible location, extremely accommodating hosts, lots to do and explore. We were a group of 11 with varying degrees of comfort with the outdoors and we all loved the trip. The site has direct access to a private natural spring, the 184.5 mile long C&O canal, the Potomac River, and 100 acres of private forested and farmed land. It also has two cabins with powerful AC, comfortable beds, hot water, a flush toilet, full kitchen (with two fridges), a fire pit with complementary firewood (provided by host!), and two charcoal grills (with charcoal!). Karen and Tom were the most wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the visit (including some fresh peaches!). The cabins and grounds were perfect for families with children. If you are looking for a quiet spot for relaxing with your family or friends that allows you to spend time outside, this is exactly that. We drove to Harper's Ferry one day to hike, and there are several cute towns with coffee and food along the way. We would definitely return again.
