It’s peaceful, quiet, clean, and there’s so much to do on the property. It’s perfect for all ages and beyond worth it. Tom was very hospitable from the moment we arrived and continued to offer us generous activities if we were interested. The cabins were very clean and well maintained. It was the perfect combination of being in nature while having some comforts to make life easy.Verified Karen and Tom's 3 cabin campground was everything we wanted and more! Glamping at its finest. Truly the best of both worlds as we loved having a camping experience with the luxery of a comfy bed at night! Not to mention the handy kitchen, bathroom building, and an outdoor shower! Beautiful property with a lovely enchanted forest, a pond that we explored, trails that we walked. The variety of woodland creatures that we saw! All were perfect for the fairy party birthday and nature scavenger hunt we had! We had such a great time we did not want to leave! Thank you Karen and Tom for being such gracious hosts with meeting us when we first arrived and taking us on a quick tour of your property, to offering a wagon ride for our group! The kids, ages 6-11 constantly had things to explore and do, without a screen in front of them. Nature at its best. Meadows with wild turkeys and white tail deer, spring fed pond, and exploring the enchanted forest were favorites. Tom and Karen were gracious hosts and stayed in touch with us. They took us on a hayride around the farm that was delightful. Grandkids gave it their rating of “Best day ever.” We will definitely be back again and will bring others.Verified Great welcome tour from the host. Spacious cabins. Cool fire pit area with plenty of seating.Verified Wow! Words can't do justice to Timber Valley Retreat. Tom and Karen go out of their way to give you a phenomenal experience. The retreat is great for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and especially great for families with kids. Tom gave us a tour around his property, a wagon tour around the area, and helped us with a campfire. He was available any time we had a question. The kids loved paddle boating in the private pond and roasting marshmallows over the campfire. They enjoyed the climbing structure, sandbox, and hammocks. The sleeping cabins have phenomenal AC and are clean and pleasant. The lofts were especially fun. The kitchen is well equipped and even has 2 fridges and freezers. This getaway ticked all the boxes- back-to-nature enough to relax, but still modern enough to be comfortable, simple enough that you don't have to worry about kids messing up the decor, but still decorated tastefully. I highly recommend this place!Verified We had the greatest time with family and friends celebrating my birthday. Karen and Tom were the nicest and most hospitable hosts that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. From hanging out with their friendly pups, to taking the kids on a gator ride around their beautiful property, or giving us a tour of the grounds, Tom and Karen were the best! You can tell they take a lot of care and pride in making you feel right at home. There is so much to do! From playing in the pond on the boat, the walk through the 'Enchanted Forest', the abundance of wildlife, a relaxing river walk, sitting around the huge firepit, the playground for the kids, the comfortable and plentiful chairs on the deck, or the comfy and clean cabins with a.c., you will feel relaxed and at peace! I can't wait to go back and feel like Tom and Karen are now extended family!Verified We had an absolutely amazing time Glamping at Karen and Tom's property. The location is absolutely gorgeous and was an excellent get away for our family to connect with nature. Tom was nice enough to give us a hay ride around their land and our toddler thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back!Verified We had an excellent stay at Timber Valley Retreat! Getting there was easy. We coordinated with Tom and he met us upon arrival. He took us to the cabins, which were far back on the property, and gave us a tour. He was very responsive during our stay. It was nice to get away and go off-grid for a couple of days. I'd consider returning in the fall to explore the woods more and hike the C&O. Between the rain and humidity, we didn't get out as much as we would have liked.Verified This was our second time back and just as wonderful as the first time. I have never been back to an airbnb before, but this one is just that special! Karen and Tom are SO thoughtful:)
