One of the most touching parts of Joe’s Review of Timber Valley Retreat was the inclusion of his 92-year-old father. Our property is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for every generation. Beyond our borders, the Potomac River flows nearby. Known as “The Nation’s River,” the Potomac flows 383 miles from the Appalachian Mountains to the Chesapeake Bay, forming borders for Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington D.C. It is a vital waterway for history, recreation, and wildlife. Even though the C&O Canal is “less than a stone’s throw away,” Joe’s group felt completely secluded in their private forest haven. For more local history, we always suggest a visit to Fort Frederick State Park or the C&O Canal National Historical Park.
