Shannon2024-07-01We had an excellent stay at Timber Valley Retreat! Getting there was easy. We coordinated with Tom and he met us upon arrival. He took us to the cabins, which were far back on the property, and gave us a tour. He was very responsive during our stay. It was nice to get away and go off-grid for a couple of days. I'd consider returning in the fall to explore the woods more and hike the C&O. Between the rain and humidity, we didn't get out as much as we would have liked.Verified

Ryan2022-07-25Incredible location, extremely accommodating hosts, lots to do and explore. We were a group of 11 with varying degrees of comfort with the outdoors and we all loved the trip. The site has direct access to a private natural spring, the 184.5 mile long C&O canal, the Potomac River, and 100 acres of private forested and farmed land. It also has two cabins with powerful AC, comfortable beds, hot water, a flush toilet, full kitchen (with two fridges), a fire pit with complementary firewood (provided by host!), and two charcoal grills (with charcoal!). This is a cabin experience for everyone. I cannot stress enough, the hosts go the distance to make this a special experience. I highly recommend it.Verified
Nolan2022-07-10Karen and Tom were the most wonderful hosts! They greeted us warmly and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the visit (including some fresh peaches!). The cabins and grounds were perfect for families with children. If you are looking for a quiet spot for relaxing with your family or friends that allows you to spend time outside, this is exactly that. We drove to Harper's Ferry one day to hike, and there are several cute towns with coffee and food along the way. We would definitely return again.
