Whether you’re sharing laughs around the fire pit, celebrating a birthday with family, or simply enjoying time together beneath the stars, our Guest Count & Additional Visitor Policy helps ensure every guest can experience the same peaceful retreat for years to come.
At Timber Valley Retreat, we want every guest to enjoy a peaceful, private getaway surrounded by the natural beauty of Western Maryland. To provide a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone while protecting our property, all reservations are subject to our 👥 Guest Count & Additional Visitor Policy.
Our lodging rates are based on the number of registered guests included in your reservation. Whether you’re planning a relaxing family retreat, celebrating a birthday, gathering for a reunion, or simply spending quality time together, accurate guest counts help us provide fair pricing, maintain a safe environment, and preserve the peaceful atmosphere our guests expect.

Family Gathering Around the Fire Pit at Timber Valley Retreat
Timber Valley Retreat is designed for peaceful family getaways, where registered guests and approved visitors can relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories together.
👥 Who Counts as a Guest?
Your reservation should accurately reflect the number of guests who will be staying at Timber Valley Retreat. Our lodging rates are based on the number of registered overnight guests, and we ask that reservations be made honestly and updated if your plans change before arrival.
For the purposes of this policy, everyone on the property counts toward the total guest count, including:
- Registered overnight guests
- Approved daytime visitors
- Friends and family attending a celebration or gathering
- Children of all ages
Children under the age of 3 are not charged the Additional Daytime Visitor Fee but must still be included in the total guest count for safety, occupancy, and emergency purposes.
If your guest count changes before your arrival, please contact us. We’ll be happy to update your reservation whenever possible.
🛏️ Registered Overnight Guests
Timber Valley Retreat comfortably accommodates up to 15 registered overnight guests in our cabins. Every overnight guest must be included in your reservation before arrival.
If your plans change and additional overnight guests will be joining your stay, please contact us as soon as possible. Whenever possible, we’ll be happy to update your reservation before your arrival.
For larger groups, additional overnight guests may be accommodated through tent camping for an additional fee, subject to availability and advance approval. Please contact us before your stay to discuss camping options, pricing, and availability.
Bringing unregistered overnight guests without prior approval is not permitted and is a violation of our 👥 Guest Count & Additional Visitor Policy. Unauthorized overnight guests may result in additional guest charges, immediate reservation adjustments, cancellation of the reservation, or termination of the stay without a refund.
Our goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and fairly priced experience for every guest while protecting the peaceful atmosphere that makes Timber Valley Retreat a special place to gather.

🎉 Additional Daytime Visitors
We understand that many families enjoy inviting relatives or friends to visit during their stay for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, reunions, and other special occasions. To help us maintain a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone, all daytime visitors must be approved in advance.
Additional approved daytime visitors: $20 per person, per day.
This fee applies to visitors who are not included as registered overnight guests and does not include overnight accommodations.
Children under the age of 3 are not charged the Additional Daytime Visitor Fee but must still be included in the total guest count for safety, occupancy, and emergency purposes.
Family Craft Time at Timber Valley Retreat
From craft time to campfires, Timber Valley Retreat is designed for families to reconnect, celebrate, and make lasting memories together.
A maximum of 10 approved daytime visitors may be added to a reservation, allowing no more than 25 total people on the property at any one time.
If your plans change before your arrival, simply contact us. We’ll be happy to review your plans, answer your questions, and help ensure your gathering complies with our Guest Count & Additional Visitor Policy.
If you’re planning a birthday party, family reunion, graduation, anniversary, retirement celebration, or another gathering, you have options. Smaller celebrations that comply with our Guest Count & Additional Visitor Policy can be enjoyed at Timber Valley Retreat.
For larger celebrations, we invite you to explore Timber Valley Farm Barn Rental, where venue rentals begin at $450. Many families choose to host their celebration at the barn while reserving Timber Valley Retreat for overnight accommodations, creating a memorable weekend together.
