Group Cabin Getaway Maryland experiences are about more than having a place to stay. They are about finding time to slow down, explore, laugh together and make memories in a beautiful setting.
When a group of Girl Scouts recently spent time at Timber Valley Retreat, they made the most of their stay. Their photos show girls and leaders exploring the woods, enjoying the water and sharing the kind of moments that make a getaway special.
We were so happy when they shared these photos with us after their stay. They captured something we hope every guest experiences at Timber Valley: time together in a beautiful place, away from the everyday routine.
From the cabins to the woods and open spaces around them, these Girl Scouts made their own memories at Timber Valley Retreat — and we are grateful they let us share a few of them.
🌿 1. A Place to Be Together
A group cabin getaway is about more than where you sleep. It is about having a place where everyone can slow down, spend time together and enjoy being outdoors.

For this Girl Scout group, Timber Valley Retreat offered a chance to step away from busy schedules and enjoy a different kind of experience. The girls had room to explore, play, talk, laugh and simply enjoy being together.
That is one of the things we love most about a Maryland cabin getaway. The best memories are often the ones that aren’t planned — a walk through the woods, a conversation outside, discovering something new or sharing a laugh that everyone remembers long after the trip is over.
These photos give us a wonderful glimpse into their time at Timber Valley, and we are grateful they shared them with us.
🌲 2. Making Memories Outdoors
One of the best parts of a group cabin getaway is having the freedom to spend time outside together. At Timber Valley Retreat, the natural setting becomes part of the experience, giving guests opportunities to explore, discover and enjoy the outdoors at their own pace.
For the Girl Scouts, their stay included time in the woods and moments cooling off in the water. These are the kinds of experiences that can turn an ordinary trip into something everyone remembers — especially when friends are sharing the adventure together.
A Maryland group cabin getaway can be a chance to put away the busy schedules for a while and simply enjoy being together. Whether it is exploring a wooded trail, finding a favorite spot to stop and look around, or enjoying time in the water, the memories often come from the simple moments.

🌊 3. Group Cabin Getaway Maryland on the Water
A Group Cabin Getaway Maryland experience can be filled with simple outdoor adventures, and time on the water was clearly one of the highlights of this Girl Scout stay. There is something about getting out on the water together that brings plenty of smiles, conversation and a little friendly adventure.
The girls enjoyed time in the water and took turns enjoying the pedal boat, making the most of one of the many ways guests can spend time outdoors at Timber Valley Retreat.
These are the moments that make a group getaway special. Nobody needs a complicated itinerary when there is room to explore, play and enjoy the natural surroundings together. Sometimes the best part of a Maryland cabin getaway is simply having the time and space to enjoy the people you came with.

🍽️ 4. The Simple Moments Matter
Some of the most memorable parts of a group cabin getaway are the moments when everyone simply sits down together. A shared meal, stories around the table and time to relax can become just as meaningful as the day’s adventures.
This photo captures that part of the Girl Scouts’ stay beautifully. Everyone is gathered around the table, enjoying a meal and each other’s company while the woods and outdoor spaces of Timber Valley surround them.
That is what makes a Maryland cabin getaway special. There is room for adventure, but there is also room to slow down. Friends can eat together, talk about the day’s discoveries and enjoy the simple pleasure of having nowhere else they need to be for a while.
For groups, those unhurried moments can become some of the memories they carry home with them.

🐾 5. The Unexpected Moments Become Favorite Memories
Not every memorable moment on a group cabin getaway is something you can plan ahead. Sometimes it is an unexpected encounter that becomes one of the stories everyone takes home.
During their stay at Timber Valley Retreat, the Girl Scouts had a chance to meet some of the dogs who call the farm home. Their excitement says a lot about how quickly an ordinary moment can turn into a favorite memory.
That is one of the things we love about sharing Timber Valley with guests. The woods, water, trails, animals and open spaces create opportunities for experiences that simply cannot be scheduled on a calendar.
A group getaway in Western Maryland can give everyone a chance to discover something a little different — and sometimes the smallest surprises are the ones people remember most.

🚜 6. A Trailblazer Ride and a Little Local Support
A Group Cabin Getaway Maryland experience can extend beyond the cabin and property, too. During their stay, the Girl Scouts took a ride on the Timber Valley Trailblazer and made a stop at the Billy Goat Farmstand, where they enjoyed slushies and cake pops while supporting another local farm business.
What makes this part of their story especially meaningful is that their visit did not end with the wagon ride. When the Girl Scouts were getting ready to leave Timber Valley Retreat, they wanted to stop at the Billy Goat Farmstand again and support the farmstand one more time.
We love seeing guests discover the small businesses and farms that are part of our local community. A getaway in Western Maryland can be about more than the place where you stay. It can also be an opportunity to explore the area, meet local people and support the neighbors who help make our community special.
Their Trailblazer adventure and second visit to the farmstand became another memorable part of their stay — and one we were especially happy to see.

🚜 7. A Ride They Will Remember
The Timber Valley Trailblazer wagon ride gave the Girl Scouts another way to experience the farm and see some of the property from a different perspective. With friends together and plenty of countryside surrounding them, the ride became part of the story they created during their stay.
The group photo beneath the Timber Valley sign is a wonderful reminder of that experience. It captures everyone together before heading back to the cabins and continuing their time at the Retreat.
For guests looking for a group cabin retreat in Maryland, experiences like the Trailblazer ride can add another layer to a stay. It is not just about having a comfortable place to gather — it is about having things to discover and memories to make together.
And in this case, the adventure continued beyond the ride, with the group making their way to the Billy Goat Farmstand and choosing to return there again before leaving Timber Valley.
